Thursday September 6th, 2007 Development on The Ship Game has resumed after being on hold for two years.
During this time, new collision detection and response algorithms have been designed and have almost completely been integrated into The Ship Game.
Tuesday September 6th, 2005 ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz
Saturday January 8th, 2005 I have been optimizing collision detection in the polyart physics engine. A larger quantity of moving objects can now exist on each level. I will continue to optimize detection even further. Rest states have not yet been implemented.
Tuesday November 30th, 2004 Major work has been done on the ship game 4. The source code is now much more modular. The new incomplete physics engine is also partially integrated.
Monday November 8th, 2004 I have been redesigning my physics engine. A new collision system has been implemented. Under this system a needle traveling at the speed of light will detect a collision with another needle in one collision step. Additionally collision detection is accurate to the least significant bit of the floating point data type being used.
Thursday October 21st, 2004 I have redesigned my sound library and recompiled Marbles with it. It should fix some of the sound problems. Netpaint is finished for the moment but is rather boring so I have not made an installer for it yet. I will add more features in the future.
Monday September 27th, 2004 Over the last few days I have been designing a stream class. The class allows for diffent endpoints and filters to be attached. For example, a file input endpoint may be attached, followed by a zip filter, an encryption filter and a socket output endpoint. A flush(or several) command will send the contents of the file zipped and encrypted over a network. I have also written a description of my next program, Netpaint. It will be a basic network
paintbrush program where multiple users may log in and modify the same canvas.
Thursday September 23rd, 2004 Development on polyart.net.
Monday September 20th, 2004 In the last 2 weeks I developed Marbles for Sleazysoft's Codefest, a 2 week game programming competition. The Ship Game 4 has been put on hold while I work on a bunch of smaller games.
